The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons congratulate star allrounder Shakib al-Hasan on reaching an extraordinary milestone of 500 T20 career wickets, becoming just the fifth bowler in world cricket to achieve this feat.
Head Coach Paul Nixon lauded Shakib’s achievement, calling it a testament to his consistency and tremendous skills.
“Shakib is a true professional and a match-winner. We saw it first-hand with the ball and then the bat! Reaching 500 T20 wickets is no small achievement. It speaks volumes about his tremendous ability, his superb skills, and relentless competitiveness over the years. We’re honoured to have a player of his calibre in the Falcons family,” Nixon said.
Shakib reached the milestone during Sunday’s morning match against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Match 11 of the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. He took the wicket of Mohammed Rizwan – caught and bowled – and ended with 3-11 off two overs as the Falcons won the match to stay top of the points table.
