Antigua and Barbuda Falcons have secured one of the most exciting signings ahead of the 2026 season of the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League with the arrival of fast bowling star Alzarri Joseph in what is being described as the ultimate homecoming for the pace sensation.
One of the premier fast bowlers in the West Indies, Joseph will represent his hometown franchise for the first time. He says he will bring the passion, determination and a burning desire to help lead the Falcons into a new era of CPL success. The 29-year-old said the opportunity to represent Antigua & Barbuda on home soil carries deep emotional meaning and responsibility.
“When I got the message from our ‘chief’ Jeff Miller he said ‘welcome home’… and I said ‘yes’!. I was happy that I am now a member of the Falcons and get this chance to play at home. I'm home... I have been in CPL since 2016, and this is the first time I will be playing for Antigua and Barbuda. So, for me this is something special… something I dreamed of … something I wanted for a while,” Joseph said.
“I had some great opportunities with other teams before, and I want to thank them. We all know every player’s dream is to play at home and I’m happy I was given this golden opportunity to wear the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons colours and represent the people who supported me from the beginning. This means everything.”
Joseph added that he is eager to be a driving force within the squad and deliver the type of impactful performances fans have come to expect throughout his international and franchise career.
“I want to be at the forefront of this team’s journey. I’m coming in highly motivated and determined to make match-winning contributions with the ball, bring energy to the group and help create something special for our supporters. The fans are passionate about cricket, and I want them to feel proud every single time we step onto the field. My focus is on delivering impactful performances, leading from the front and helping this franchise compete at the highest level.”
The signing is expected to provide a major boost to the Falcons’ bowling attack while energising supporters across Antigua and Barbuda and the wider Caribbean ahead of CPL 2026. Joseph’s much-talked about arrival also strengthens the growing connection between the franchise and the local cricket community, with fans set to witness one of their own leading the charge.
